The history of MEXX
The beginning.1980. Two new fashion brands appear in the Netherlands: Emanuelle for young women lovers of fashion and Mustache for young men lovers of fashion. 1986. M(ustache) and E(manuelle) are joint by two kisses (XX): MEXX is born. And the new brand-name started its soaring.
The present.In 2001, Mexx got into the world's biggest brand-name owner’s team and became the property of Liz Claiborne Inc. representing 29 brands. These days MEXX has a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide, in particular, in Europe, including most of the EU member countries but it has also gained a footing in Canada, the Middle East, America and Asia. In 2009 the rights of hungarian exclusive distribution went to Roland Ltd.
Image.Mexx’s image is pretty variant, because it has to accomodate to many people, culture, age, profession and desire. Whoever Mexx’s fans are, some collective things will always refer them: positive thinking, open-minds, positive lifestyle and nonconformism.
The message.In one of Mexx’s former campaigns, "Real clothes for real people”, Mexx intended to express that we should stand out from the crowd by emphasizing our personality. Later on, the campaigns were based on the mysticism of a kiss. Mexx shows in its spring-summer collection what we, urban people really need. The latest trend was inspired by „metropolitan casual”, the dressing codes of urban style. This collection provides clothes, that are able to show our real personality, give a comfortable feeling and present a world without cliches. The constant color that have been used to the collection is purple, it appears often in details or directly. Several materials have been unified softly, which is the promise of quality and the look of high standars.
